
Pre-Event Training
There will be six pre-event training sessions for those who wish to train in a group at their own level. Meet at the Sports Centre at Wellington College at 8.45 am - a £3 donation to the Triathlon's charities is requested. There will be a collection box at Reception. Don't forget to bring swimmies, running shoes, a bike and padlock! It would be helpful if you could drop us a brief email a few days beforehand if you plan to attend so we can get an idea of numbers.
Pre-event training dates for 2010 are as follows:
- March 7th
- March 28th
- April 11th
- April 18th
- May 23rd
- June 6th
A brief timetable of events for Pre-event training:
- People arrive between 8.45 - 9am to complete 8 lengths of the pool. Please use the swimming pool changing room lockers - do NOT leave kit on the benches while you are in the pool.
- Congregate in the lower car park at 9.10 with bikes to leave for the ride. You will be given a map and phone no. in case you get lost. People tend to bike in small groups as we can obviously not keep up with everyone. The route is a figure of 8 so you pass the Sports Centre again half way round if you should only want to do half.
- Meet again in the lower car park at approx 10.05 to set off for the run. Again, we can't run at everyone's pace so you will have a map, but a lot of people know the route so stick with someone that does as its easier to get lost on the run.
There is a brief chat between each activity so feel free to ask questions. There will be no transition zone or marshalling on the Pre-event training dates so leave time between each activity to lock your bike, change clothing, etc. We do our best to ensure we don't lose anyone or set off without anyone, but no guarantees!
As soon as you are confident of the routes, please feel free to set off for the bike & run without waiting for everyone else, so that you can reduce transition times. Just let us know, and we won't wait for you.
